Christian Roncea’s artistic practice is a mixture of painting, curating and exhibition making. The works are self-referential, resist classification. They question art history and the power structures involved. For Christian, painting is a research method rather than a medium as it helps develop new ideas or directions in a non-linear manner.

Dealing with subjects such as tricksters, authorship and social hierarchies, the artist creates a world of objects and 2d works, which attract, confuse and deceive the viewer through a diverse array of materials or painterly techniques.
