Narges Mohammadi Wins Piket Art Prize 2021

We are pleased to share that Narges Mohammadi, recipient of the 2020 Ron Mandos Young Blood Award, has been awarded the Piket Kunstprijs 2021: the annual prize for young professional artists who have a relationship with, or contribute to, the The Hague region. Mohammadi is the winner in the category Painting.
The jury motivates their decision by stating the following:
“Everything about Narges Mohammadi exudes a great passion to create and everything she makes is equally well thought out. Her work shows quality and potential. […] Mohammadi gathers fellow artists, often with a similar background, around her. Side by side they create their extensive installations and share the results. The jury also finds this social side of her artistry admirable.”
As the winner of the 2021 Piket Prize, Narges Mohammadi received an €8.000,- money prize and a bronze sculpture by Yke Prins.
“It still feels incredibly surreal to be awarded for just following your heart and intuition.” Says Mohammadi on Instagram.
